• Please call before shipping to us.


• Tektronix^® original shipping cartons are preferred.


• Instruments that are open frame or without the protection of a case (17xx series) can be protected by making a sleeve out of a piece of cardboard. Wrap the cardboard around the instrument and tape the cardboard only. (See figure below) Then wrap the instrument with 3 or 4 layers of bubble wrap. Form a well inside the shipping box with foam rubber 4 to 6 inches all around the instrument.






• Styrofoam pellets or packing popcorn can be displaced by the weight of the instrument causing the instrument to move to, or go through, the side of the shipping box. Please don't use them.


• Newspaper is not a suitable packing material and should never be used.


• If the instrument is large or over 75 lbs we recommend that you box it, strap it to a pallet, and ship it by truck.


• Make sure the package can survive a 3 to 4 foot drop as the shipping service might actually do that. The picture below shows what can happen when something is improperly packed.
